Got a camping trip coming up but aren't particularly keen on campsite showers or chilly dips in the river? Relax, we've got you.

Our Beach Showers allow you to set up a private shower area and enjoy a warm rinse. Better yet, you don't need fancy camping DIY skills, battery hookups or complicated parts. Below is a guide to using your Beach Shower as a heated camping shower.

What is a heated camping shower?

A heated camping shower is a portable shower system that allows you to enjoy a warm and comfortable shower while camping.

It usually consists of a water source, heating element and showerhead. However, a portable camping shower such as ours only needs to be filled with warm water (<50˚C/122°F) and pumped to your desired pressure.

Benefits of heated camp showers

Comfort and hygiene

One of the primary benefits of a heated camping shower is the enhanced comfort it provides.

After a long day of hiking and exploring the bush or beach, a warm shower can help soothe sore muscles and invigorate your spirit. Additionally, maintaining proper hygiene is crucial when you're out in nature for extended periods of time.

A warm shower ensures you can stay clean and fresh, reducing the risk of infections and illnesses associated with poor hygiene.

The only question remains: should you shower at night or first thing in the morning?

Convenience

A heated camping shower offers unparalleled convenience.

Unlike traditional camping showers, our portable system does not require complex setups or additional power sources. Simply fill it with warm water and pump to your preferred pressure.

This ease of use saves you time and hassle, allowing you to focus more on enjoying your camping or vanlife experience rather than struggling with complicated equipment.

Eco-friendly

Due to the sizes of our tanks, our showers use less water compared to conventional showers.

This helps you conserve this precious resource while you're out in the wilderness. By minimising water usage, you contribute to environmental preservation.

Furthermore, the need for disposable wipes or alternative cleaning methods is reduced, decreasing your camping trip's ecological footprint.

More freedom

Prefer to camp off the beaten track and avoid crowded campsites?

With a heated camping shower, you have the freedom to set up camp wherever you'd like without having to worry about proximity to traditional shower facilities. Enjoy a hot shower no matter where your adventures take you.

How good!

Versatility

The versatility of our heated camping showers is another significant advantage.

Aside from personal hygiene, they can be used for washing dishes, cleaning surfboards and mountain bikes or even rinsing off pets. This multi-functional use makes them a practical addition to any camping gear.

Throw in the fact they're both lightweight and compact and you'll be stoked with how easy they are to transport and set up.

Less hassle for families

Last but not least, we'd be remiss not to mention the fact that your own personal, portable camping shower is a game-changer when travelling with kids.

Say goodbye to the headache of finding public showers for fussy kids or wasting precious time queuing for shared facilities. With a heated camping shower, you can quickly and easily wash off your little ones, even in remote locations.

Mum and dad... need we say more?

Tips for using a heated camp shower

Want to make the most of your portable camping shower? Here are our favourite tips sourced from Beach Soulers who've tested our Beach Showers in various camping scenarios.

Combine it with our bag and mat

Did you know that we also offer bag and mat combos to compliment your showering experience?

You can chuck wet clothing or gear in the bag and stand on the mat while showering to keep your feet clean. This way, you can avoid tracking dirt and sand back into your tent or van.

Create a private camp shower area

Showering outdoors in Mother Nature is one of life's simple pleasures, but it's still nice to have some privacy. Check out this article on setting up a private camping shower area for tips on how to make your outdoor bathing experience even more enjoyable.

Use our suction cup nozzle holder

Take your heated camp shower game to the next level by using our suction cup nozzle holder. This handy accessory allows you to attach the showerhead to any smooth surface, creating a hands-free shower experience.

Use biodegradable soaps

Most soaps are not good for the environment, especially when used in natural water sources. To reduce your ecological impact, opt for biodegradable soaps while using your heated camping shower. Discover our favourite outdoor soaps that are also eco-friendly.

Be careful to avoid runoff into your site

This one is a no-brainer. Whatever you do, don't set up your heated camp shower above a water source or your campsite. When possible, place it below your campsite and be conscious of where your wastewater ends up.

Leave your Beach Shower in the sun

Did you know that in addition to holding hot water, our Beach Showers can also heat up the water using solar energy?

On a sunny day, you can leave your Beach Shower in the sun for a few hours to heat up before use. You needn't refill your shower with warm water. Instead, you can use the power of the sun to heat it up on the go.

Leave your shower to dry before stowing away

Finally, to avoid mould or mildew from forming, make sure to give your heated camp shower enough time to dry before packing it away for storage. This is especially important if you're planning on using it for multiple days in a row.

Proper care and maintenance will prolong the life of your shower. Learn more about caring for your Beach Shower.
